Online Booking Queries
I can’t find what I am looking for when trying to book online – what can I do?
If you are using an iPhone/iPad or other device on Safari, click here to open a new tab
Sometimes a problem can happen when you click to book online – we might have made a small error with a price, your mobile phone screen may be a little too small to see all of the information or you just can’t see what you’re looking for. So, we now include a simple – Contact Form – for you to make a general enquiry about accommodation instead – we look forward to hearing from you and will respond as quickly as possible. Alternatively, phone us on 01963 350124.
Where can we park our car?
Parking is easy at Clanville Manor – there is ample off road parking for vehicles.
How many guests can you accommodate in your properties?
The Tallet Holiday Cottage is adjacent to Clanville Manor. It has a double room with six foot wide bed and a bunk bed room (beds 90cm wide but limited headroom for adults) plus full sitting, dining and kitchen facilities. A Z bed or cot can be put in the double room. One shower/small bath room with toilet. (Sleeps up to 5)
Lone Oak Cottage (at the end of the drive) has two double rooms, one of which has an ensuite shower room with toilet, and a twin room and separate shower room with toilet. (Sleeps up to 6+cot)
There is a cot and a highchair in each property.
New for 2016: If you are a larger party, or if friends or family would like to visit during your stay, please enquire about the ‘room only’ option for two people staying in the ‘four-poster’ ensuite bedroom in the farmhouse when booking Lone Oak or The Tallet. (£50 for a single night; £45 per night for two nights or £30 per night for three or more nights.) See here for photos.
When is the swimming pool available?
The (fenced) heated (28’C) outdoor pool is available from the beginning of June until the end of August. If the weather is brilliant at the end of May we try to open it as soon as possible. The pool heating is turned off at the end of August but you may be able to swim, if the nights don’t become too cold, for a week or so into September.
We regularly check and maintain our heated outdoor pool so that our guests can enjoy swimming whilst on holiday during the summer months. The pool water is also monitored by the local Environmental Health Department.
‘We’re Visiting Somerset and Bringing our Pet’
If you have a guide or assistance dog we can make the necessary arrangements for them.
However, other than this we don’t accept guests’ pets. Please ask for details of local kennels nearby where you may leave your dog. Dogs are not allowed to stay in your car either.
Do we have access to the farm when staying at Clanville Manor?
You may walk in the fields and along the riverbank and there is a shallow area of the river for paddling and ‘dam building’. All children must be with an adult and Rob or Sally will discuss access arrangements which depend on grazing animals and/or hay or silage mowing. Egg collecting and ‘farm tours’ are often the parts of the holiday most enjoyed by the children – and adults too! Please ask if you are interested. Children must not be allowed into the farmyard at any time without Rob or Sally.
Do you have Free Range eggs available?
Yes – free range eggs are provided by the farm’s own hens and we usually supply a complimentary half dozen box of eggs in the cottages. In the autumn and winter months our hens often don’t provide enough eggs, so they are bought from a local free range farm. Children over 3 can help Sally find eggs when the hens are laying, and all children can feed the hens, which is always a popular activity.
Can we buy some eggs to take home with us?
Yes – free range eggs are for sale whenever they are available.
Can I Read Your Access Statements On This Website?
Yes. Please see – Accessibility Statement – for The Tallet Holiday Cottage. Or read the – Lone Oak Cottage Accessibility Statement – and do please ask Sally for further information if you need it.
Can I Access The Internet Whilst Staying With You?
Yes – we offer ‘Wi-fi’ wireless internet access and ‘reasonable use’ is included in the standard accommodation rates. Please see our page for – Wireless Internet Access – for further information.
Families with Children are Welcome in Clanville Manor self-catering properties
If you are looking for family friendly self-catering accommodation in Somerset, you have found it! Children will love the countryside surroundings here, there are both indoor toys and outdoor play areas to discover – and smaller children might like to join Sally on an ‘egg hunt’ when you return from your day out.
Do You Have Any Accommodation That Is Particularly Family Friendly?
Yes. Self catering – Family Holidays – are very popular here, with a safe outdoor play area and many other features to make Clanville Manor particularly suitable for families with young children.
Is Clanville Manor recommended by recognised organisations?
Yes – our self catering accommodation has four stars from the AA.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, if booking The Tallet. To reserve accommodation, credit or debit card details are required. A credit card or a commercial/business debit card will be subject to a 2% charge, which is charged by our Card Merchant Service to us. Payment by personal debit card or by BACS transfer (please email for details) will not be surcharged. Please state in the notes section if your card is a personal debit card, as the system does not differentiate between Visa debit and credit cards and a surcharge will be added!
Lone Oak bookings can no longer be made by card and BACS transfer or UK cheque payment is needed.
What is your smoking policy?
Clanville Manor is a totally non smoking establishment. Smoking is not permitted in either of the cottages or in the farmhouse when let for self-catering. You may smoke in the garden but please consider the comfort of other guests. Smoking in any of our properties will trigger fire alarms.
Are there options for dining out or shopping for food locally?
Yes – in Castle Cary there is a quality butcher, Charlie Hill on Bailey Hill, who also makes scrumptious pies, a deli counter in Martins Stores, a Chinese take away, 2 fish and chip shops, and a Thai restaurant. There are a number of other pubs and restaurants within the locality; click here for details. As we are in a rural location with no pavements or street lights, we don’t recommend walking to pubs in the evening; Castle Cary is a brisk 2 mile walk away, again, no pavements….
Do you offer B&B at Clanville Manor?
We no longer offer B&B, having closed that part of the business in 2013 after 18 years!
